Weeks ago, I was hit up by my friend and former school mate who asked me to check out their new burger joint at Ili Likha Artists’ Village. Luckily, I got to go back to my second home even just for two days, so I decided to check the place out for lunch.
If you’re along Session Road but you’re already “sawa” with all the food options there, just head on to Assumption Road. From Porta Vaga, head down and make a right at the new Jollibee. Then just walk up for several meters. Ili Likha Artists’ Village is hard to miss. If you get to another Jollibee, the one beside a McDonald’s, you’ve gone too far. Once you’re inside Ili Likha, just go past the small bridge and the place will be right in front of you.
We ordered a Supersized All Beef BrrrGrrr – a single patty burger with fresh iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, and caramelized onions, plus ketchup, mustard, and mayo. We added a side order of potato wedges and dalandan cucumber juice.
The burger, which weighs more than a quarter pound, costs only Php 59.00 and the side orders cost only Php 30.00! Yep, my friend and I couldn’t believe it either. Oh and mind you, all of their patties are made with pure beef with no MSG and no artificial extenders. 🙂
Biting into the burger made me think that the other burger places around Baguio are way over priced! For real! The patty had a crisp outer layer and was succulent through and through. The buns were soft but not too soft to get it all soaked and mushy. The amount of condiments were just right to compliment the burger, not overpower its flavor. The potato wedges went perfectly with the burger as it should (you can’t go wrong with this combination after all).
Feeling a little confident we wouldn’t get heart attacks any time soon, we decided to split a burger steak (because I wanted some rice in my system). This meal only costs only Php 55.00. I asked my friend and owner of the place several times “paano kayo hindi nalulugi?”
The patty they used for the burger steak was similar to the ones in their burgers: Just as juicy, just as good. Although the gravy could be a tad saltier for my taste. It was still good, nonetheless. And for below sixty pesos, I just might order another serving.
My friend and I were beyond full after eating what we ordered from BrrrGrrr Bistro and all for below Php 100.00 each if we hadn’t ordered that burger steak, hahaha! In case you were curious about what else they offered, here’s their menu.
So if you’re a student who’s a little tight on your allowance, a tourist new to Baguio, or Baguio native looking for something cheap to try, check out BrrrGrrr Bistro!
