Café Adriana is the newest brand of Hill Station, and it really does set itself apart by offering Filipino-Spanish inspired dishes that are sure to warm your heart.
Leaving the place made us feel closer to the friendly culture of Spain and the Philippines. Café Adriana might be under the Hill Station brand, but it sets itself apart through warm and cozy dishes guaranteed to make you long for more.

- The Mushroom Bruschetta offers a great combination of mushrooms, white wine, olive oil and Melba toast that not only gives you pleasure for every bite, but also that unquenchable desire for more.
- The Huevos Rancheros offers you a medley of kidney beans, sofrito, ground beef, onions, bell pepper and poached eggs. It’s the perfect Spanish-inspired dish to help you get your hunger going in time for the main course.
- The Roasted Vegetable Pizza, made up of sweet-sour tomato concasse and mixed cheese, and the Homemade Sausage Pizza which is a glorious dish made up of Café Adriana’s homemade smoked sausages. It’s a sure win for these pizzas, and you might even find yourself coming back just for these.
- The Grilled Chicken was a familiar treat, backed up by organic salad and couscous and a dash of orange-honey vinaigrette.
- As for the Paella de Legumbres, one cannot help but satisfy the Spanish cravings within each of us. It’s a combination of roasted eggplant, zucchini, red and green peppers, green beans, cauliflower, broccoli, mushrooms, squash, and peas. It doesn’t matter if you’re not a fan of vegetables—you’re bound to love this one.
- To top things off, a creamy Matcha Créme Brulee was served as dessert.

VANILLA CAFE – Where the food tastes as good as the hotel looks
It’s exactly yum time when the K-Lite Krew arrived just as all the food was served for lunch.
Along with the Vanilla Cafe’s fantasy theatrical ambiance, huge artistic chairs (they were heavy to move), among the food in front of us was a rice chicken meal. Chicken was tender and well seasoned.
- The next plate was KareKare with a twist. I asked the DJs if it were soup or a separate purée dish to taste but it was the sauce of the Kare-Kare looking orange bright in a bowl. I thought, all Filipino restos have their own twist of this epic dish.
- I moved on to the next plate where nobody dared to touch at first and it was a honey-glazed tuyo breakfast rice meal- man, that knocked out my palate! It was the winner dish, so outstanding! Former DJ Blaze of Hijo de Foto and I agreed it was our favorite.
- California BBQ Ribs
- Verdori Vegetable Pasta
- From one bite to another, we tasted the eye candy cupcakes chicly decorated to the theme of the resto. Chocolate lava is to love with choco richness, lemon cupcake was refreshing, red velvet’s true to its name. Each is the price of two when you’re downtown so I actually got all cup cake leftovers home. I ate them the next day and they still taste delish.
Vanilla Cafe set a very high standard to our next food crawl stop. Missing the cafe Adriana crawl that day didn’t actually make me feel so bad after dining in such beautiful resto with a fantasy-homey setting away from the city buzz.
Anyeong! Going Korean at BatoBato Plate.
ANYEONG! It’s Bato-Bato Plate Restaurant at Hotel Albergo, Lualhati Street, Baguio! The resto’s name is nothing Korean but here they serve Korean-Western tasty dishes. The K-Lite fambam arrived from some 250 meters away from the second stop and delighted themselves to the swing chairs still full but ready for the next food battle.
Bato-Bato is the Filipino term of stone. In Korea, it is actually cooking through granite stone rocks but then for convenience, it’s Korean cast iron plates and bowls that arrived when the dishes were served.
First, we begin with the array of side dishes- kimchi, chayote pickle, seasoned mung bean sprout and the stand out kimbap. We must say that the kimbap amongst all displayed to taste was spot on with its sticky thick rice rolled with sweet beef, veggies in the Kim (seaweed). This established our palate for the main dish.

Kimchi, Chayote Pickle, Seasoned Mung Bean Sprout
- Kimbap
- Then came the seaweed banchan topped with caviar. As for most Korean dishes, this one needed some mixing to better enjoy. It had that unique sea flavor forged with rice that go so well together.
- We were looking forward to having a signature dish, one to claim a personal favorite when a spaghetti/ pizza- looking/smelling- like huge Grilled Chicken (Buldak)불닭 served with extra cheese or hot & spicy chicken with noodles, cheese, egg, and vegetables.
- Beef Mushroom (Bersut Bulgogi)
- Norwegian Pink Salmon served with Pesto Pasta and tomato-onion-mango salsa
- Cookies and Cream Snow Ice
- The strawberry shaved ice was set to land on the table, we couldn’t say no. We dug in (can’t imagine life with no dessert) more than a couple of times. It was so creamy, smooth and perfect with the lush freshly sliced strawberries.

Brick oven pizza at Firewood Pizzeria
Located at Newtown Plaza Hotel, Firewood Pizzeria has easy access to all its guests and the general public considering that it’s only 10 minutes away from the town center. But that is not the greatest feature of the restaurant, it’s definitely their brick oven cooked pizzas. The best thing about a freshly baked brick oven pizza is that the dough is deliciously chewy with a complementing smoky smell.

Firewood Signature Pizza
- When this pork chop was first served, everyone was shocked by how thick it was. We would even call it the Triple-cut porkchop if we could. The pork chop had the perfect thick cut to it, leaving a ton of the meat’s juices inside. It came along with the creamiest mashed potatoes, making the inner child in me squeal with delight. This dish is definitely a must-have in Firewood Pizzeria.
- Chop Chop Salad – This salad’s name lives up to the expectation. Along with its crunchy vegetables, it’s served with chopped chicken, tomatoes, olives and much more! There is no doubt that this salad was freshly made for their guests.
- 5 Cheese Pizza – Not 2… not 3… not 4… but 5 kinds of cheese, all in one pizza! This perfect cheesy pizza is topped off with a mix of Mozzarella, Blue Cheese, Swiss, Cheddar and Native Cheese. The best thing about this pizza is that the layer of cheese on top is thicker than the dough on the bottom. It’s also great for all vegetarians!
- Empanadas with Mango Sauce – Not just your regular meat empanada, this particular once is served with the best tangy mango sauce there is! We personally have never tasted a sauce as unique as this, and that alone is enough reason for you to order it yourself.
Rasa Pura – Authentic Singaporean Experience
Rasa Pura, an authentic Singaporean restaurant, that offers traditional Singaporean cuisine. Located at Cm Recto Corner, Leonard Wood Rd. Rasa Pura is only 10 minutes away from Baguio City’s town proper. Their dishes were served fresh and piping hot.

Rasa Pura Hainanese Chicken
- Mie Goreng This flavorful fried noodle dish is the perfect combination with all the other dishes on the menu. Rarely will you find a perfectly replicated Singaporean Mie Goreng, but fear no more, Rasa Pura has broken that and serves one of the best fried noodles there is in Baguio City.
- Chicken Satay Usually served on the streets of Singapore, found in hawker centers, is now available for you in Baguio City. This popular dish is marinated with all types of spices and is cooked on a charcoal grill. Everyone knows that the perfect South East Asian satay, is a Singaporean Chicken satay.
- BBQ Squid This is one of Singapore’s best dishes and definitely one of Rasa Pura’s as well. The BBQ sauce the squid was cooked in was the perfect balance of spice, making you eat spoonful after spoonful.
- Fish Head Laksa Laksa, a deliciously rich and spicy soup, served with a whole fish head. The best Part? The fish is Salmon. Not only do you get an authentic Singaporean soup, you also get one of the best kinds of fishes served with it!
